Winans

About the Range

Winans is a 25yrd range consisting of three bays, Winans A, Winans B and the Zero Range.

Bookable by the hour or full sessions, Winans A and B both feature covered firing points, and can both accommodate the use of both rifles and shotguns (please read specific permitted firearms types below).

Winans A consists of 10 turning targets, whilst Winans B contains 6 static target lanes. Both ranges are popular with club shoots and members' practice sessions, due to its accessibility and practicality.

Winans A

Rifles and Pistols (including in both cases airguns if notified in booking)

Maximum Muzzle Energy: 2030 J (1496 ft lb)

Shotguns

12-32 bore (including .410 bore)
Frangible targets: SG or smaller shot
Slug: No4 or smaller shot (please notify at the time of booking if hard targets (steel targetry) is to be requested)

Winans B

Rifles (including airguns)

Maximum Muzzle Velocity: 1000 m/s (3280 ft/s)
Maximum Muzzle Energy: 7000 J (5160 ft/lb)

Pistols

Maximum Muzzle Velocity: 655 m/s (2150 ft/s)
Maximum Muzzle Energy: 2030 J (1496 ft/lb)

Shotguns

12-32 bore (including 410 bore)
Solid Slug only (to be notified at time of booking)

Special Requirements

Steel (hard) targets are available for hire on Bay A, subject to firearms and ammunition used (please see range regulations below).

Toilets:

The nearest toilets are located at the bottom and top of Gallery Rd (what3words - edges.label.golf)

Parking:

All three Bays of Winans have small car parks situated outside the front of the ranges. Overflow parking is provided by Fat Tony's or the NCSC car park.

Please note, targets and/or backing boards are not included in your booking. For additional targets, these are classed as extras, and additional charges apply; these should be highlighted in your booking.

Standard target backing board £6.00 (for target faces only please speak to the Range Office)

Hard Targets (steel targetry) - £11.00 per AM/PM session

How to Book

Select the range as either 'Winans (Hourly)' (please specify if Bay A or B is wanted in the comments), 'Winans A'/ 'Winans B' (for AM/PM sessions).

Select the number of lanes as required, and the timings (applicable for hourly bookings only; for full 'Sessions' please select AM or PM).
